A Modern Cayman Island Villa Beach Retreat
Luxury relaxation is the theme at this modern Cayman Island villa. Enjoy the amazing ocean views and relax by the double sided, glass tile infinity pool. Watch the moonrise or look for falling stars from the oceanfront spa. Eat wonderfully fresh food. Large interior and alfresco dining areas will make for memorable family meals while listening to the sound of waves breaking on the offshore reef and gazing upon the breathtaking turquoise waters. A fully outfitted outdoor kitchen is also on hand to grill up the day’s fresh catch.
Present Moment has the feel of a boutique resort hotel, with a one story, open floorplan that flows easily from inside to outdoor space. The huge, double sided infinity pool is the star attraction, complete with sun shelf, hot tub and oceanfront deck. Sweeping views of the crystal clear Caribbean sea abound.
Present Moment is located on over 75 feet of wide, private beach, perfect for playing and beachcombing. This area of the island is a bit more rustic, with a rockier shoreline and larger waves. Although many swim in the sea here, it is not suitable for young children to swim. Despite that, our children love this area and play by the shoreline for hours. They build sand castles, delight in searching for sea life in the rocks, and splash in the shallows – returning to the oceanfront pool to swim. Shoes are recommended if you would like to enter the water but are not necessary for the sandy beach.
Present Moment has 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 10 adults. The master bedroom is oceanfront with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea. The bunk room or “family suite” has 2 queen beds and 2 twin beds and is perfect for children, adults or families who want to keep the little ones close. Two additional Queen bedrooms with in-suite bathrooms round out the sleeping areas.
Present Moment also enjoys all the standard amenities that are the hallmark of each Luxury Cayman Villas property.
Present Moment is located in Bodden Town on Manse Road, a residential street brimming with local charm. Bodden Town was settled in the early 1700s, and was the original capital of the Cayman Islands. It has a local, authentic feel and is more off the beaten path than many other parts of the island.
Bodden Town and Present Moment are secluded from the crowds of Seven Mile Beach, yet are just a short 20 minute drive from the airport and 30 minutes for virtually every other area of the island. A rental car is recommended.
Present Moment is located 2 houses away from In Harmony, which allows for parties of 20 or more to stay virtually next door to each other.
For bird and plant enthusiasts, Mastic Trail, located at the east end of the North Side of Grand Cayman, is a 200 year old 4 km hiking path through the center of the island. This 2 million year old reserve is one of the territory’s Important Bird Areas, named for the Yellow and Black Mastic trees.
The Pirate Caves are a fun for kids attraction in Bodden Town on the main road just east of Present Moment and In Harmony (west of Tranquility Cove). There is a small petting zoo and there are a few caves you can walk through. Kids can also feed a duck, some fish and some turtles.
Located in Breakers, near Tranquility Cove, Present Moment and In Harmony villas, The Lighthouse has been a Cayman staple for many years. Children are welcome and has as a nice over-ocean dining deck.
