Luxury Cayman Villas is seeking a talented, entrepreneurial, service-oriented Caymanian or RERC holder to join a fast-paced, energetic family deeply dedicated to creating a luxury hospitality experience and growing a new caliber of vacation rental in the Cayman Islands.

 

Responsibilities

As our new Bookkeeper, you would be responsible for assisting in all daily accounting and finance requirements of the Company, including:

  • reviewing and verifying all source documents, including expense reports, invoices and receipts;
  • preparing checks, electronic payments and bank deposits;
  • posting financial transactions into the Company’s accounts;
  • reviewing credit card and bank statements on a monthly basis;
  • reconciling and balancing all accounts;
  • reviewing and posting property owner charges;
  • preparing financial statements on a periodic basis;
  • reviewing employee time sheets for accuracy;
  • preparing and processing payroll on a monthly basis;
  • ensuring compliance with local pension, healthcare and employment laws;
  • preparing monthly tax and occupancy reports;
  • tracking and maintaining inventory records;
  • maintaining internal controls;
  • maintaining and tracking petty cash;
  • assisting with budget preparation and review;
  • maintaining discretion and confidentiality at all times; and
  • performing additional responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have:

  • a Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
  • at least 3 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and payroll reports;
  • a strong knowledge of generally accepted account principles;
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Quickbooks and Google Apps for Business;
  • accuracy and attention to detail;
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality;
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including professional telephone etiquette;
  • a commitment to excellence;
  • an eagerness to learn and incorporate feedback;
  • a calm demeanor, even in a crisis;
  • a respect for diversity and an appreciation for differences in culture, language, background, and way of life;
  • the ability to independently prioritize and organize work assignments, work well under pressure, and deal with large volume and variety of requests, while maintaining attention to detail and exercising good judgment;
  • experience working in a demanding, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
  • a willingness to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays;
  • a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; and
  • the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and/or place objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
