Luxury Cayman Villas Revised COVID-19 Cancellation Policies (21 April 2020)

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread worldwide the Luxury Cayman Villas team have been closely monitoring the World Health Organisation’s statements regarding the COVID-19 cases and have been strictly following the guidelines from these agencies and our local health departments. As the situation continues to rapidly evolve, we want to keep our guests and travel partners informed about our flexible policies created in response to this crisis as well as important information from the Cayman Islands Government about travel restrictions, airport closures and anything else that may affect our guests.

Airport Closure.

Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman is closed to international passengers, including those flying private aircraft, at this time. The Cabinet will continue to assess the situation and will make a decision about how long to extend the closing of the Cayman Islands’ borders. At present, the borders will remain closed to non-essential travelers at least through 1 September 2020.

Updated Cancellation Policies.

New Cancellation Policy for Existing Reservations with arrival dates before June 30, 2020:

1. Festive Week Reservations. Any reservation that includes any day during the calendar week of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day (a “Festive Week Reservation”) shall be non-changeable, non-cancelable, and non-refundable. Any and all payments made in respect of a changed or canceled Festive Week Reservation will be forfeited.

2. All Other Reservations: Reservation other than a Festive Week Reservation may be changed or canceled at any time prior to arrival, although no refunds will be given. If such a reservation is changed or canceled, any amounts previously paid may be applied toward another rental at the same Property within one year of the original arrival date. Any and all payments made in respect of a changed or canceled reservation will be forfeited if not rebooked within the stated one year rebooking window. 

New Cancellation Policy for Existing Reservations with arrival dates after June 30, 2020:

1. Festive Week Reservations. Any reservation that includes any day during the calendar week of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day (a “Festive Week Reservation”) shall be non-changeable, non-cancelable, and non-refundable. Any and all payments made in respect of a changed or canceled Festive Week Reservation will be forfeited.

2. All Other Reservations.  Changes and Cancellations (more than 60 days prior to arrival)Reservation other than a Festive Week Reservation may be changed or canceled more than 60 days prior to arrival, although no refunds will be given. If such a reservation is changed or canceled more than 60 days prior to arrival, any amounts previously paid may be applied toward another rental at the same Property within one year of the original arrival date. Any and all payments made in respect of a changed or canceled reservation will be forfeited if not rebooked within the stated one year rebooking window. 
Last-Minute Changes and Cancellations (less than 60 days prior to arrival) – Reservation other than a Festive Week Reservation may be changed or canceled less than 60 days prior to arrival, although no refunds will be given. If such a reservation is changed or canceled less than 60 days prior to arrival, any amounts previously paid may be applied toward another rental at the same Property within one year of the original arrival date. Provided however, any replacement rental is subject to travel date restrictions. Specifically, rescheduled travel must occur between August 22 – November 21, 2020, April 9 – June 17, 2021, or alternatively, any available week that is not otherwise reserved 3 weeks prior to check-in. Any and all payments made in respect of a changed or canceled reservation will be forfeited if not rebooked within the stated on year rebooking window. Multiple changes or cancelations are not permitted.

New Cancellation Policy for New Reservations made between March 30, 2020 and September 30, 2020:

1. Festive Week Reservations. Any reservation that includes any day during the calendar week of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day (a “Festive Week Reservation”) shall be fully refundable if the cancellation request is made at least 60 days prior to check-in.  Festive Week Reservations are non-changeable, non-cancelable, and non-refundable within 60 days of check-in. Any and all payments made in respect of a Festive Week Reservation that is changed or canceled within 60 days of check-in will be forfeited.
2. All Other Reservations. Any reservation other than a Festive Week Reservation shall be fully refundable if the cancellation request is made at least 15 days prior to check-in.  Such reservations are non-changeable, non-cancelable, and non-refundable within 15 days of check-in. Any and all payments made in respect of such a reservation that is changed or canceled within 15 days of check-in will be forfeited.

We will continue to monitor the current situation and will make amendments to these policies as things progress both within Grand Cayman and throughout the rest of the world.
